    Being involved with food and service has always been a passion of mine instilled by my Cuban grandmother who cooked from scratch every meal we ate. She taught me the importance of hospitality when serving others. Bon Appétit Management Company shares those same values. I am so proud of our team and the work we do here at Wheaton College. To serve the students, faculty, staff, and guests has truly been a blessing!

    From my earliest days food has been a passion of mine. For many years I helped my mother make dinner for our family of 10. I feel every day is a learning experience. I am truly fortunate to work in a company that embraces fresh from scratch cooking as its core value. I really enjoy cooking for the students at Wheaton College because they are always willing to try something new. I have been cooking professionally for over 30 years and I still love every minute of it.

    Growing up with a Dad in the hospitality industry made me a natural for this position. I have always had a passion for hospitality and was very lucky to be introduced to it at a young age and have the opportunity to follow it through to adulthood. I am a “people person” and enjoy creating memorable events that make an impact in people’s lives. While my family has been a part of the Wheaton community for over 7 generations, I only recently moved back home to my roots with my husband and baby, Lily. I am very proud to be a part of an institution that is so instrumental in what makes Wheaton…Wheaton!

    I have been cooking since I graduated high school working in little mom and pop restaurants and eventually earning my degree in Culinary Arts at Kendall College. I’ve worked in hotels, private clubs and restaurants, big and small. At each place that I worked I brought to them my skills and I took away from each the benefit of experience. All in all, this combination has brought me 20+ years of experience and extensive knowledge. My passion and love for food has not changed. Working here at Bon Appétit inspires me more to be the very best and provide the students and guests the best we have to offer.

    Over 25 years ago I arrived at Wheaton College to begin my college experience I and was in need of a job. I joined the food service staff as a freshman and have continued to work here ever since. I have been fortunate to learn just about every aspect of what it takes to serve meals to 2000 students. I have made many lifelong friends along the way and cherish all of them. It has been a privilege to be part of many of the student’s lives and to serve their needs on a daily basis.

Working with my team as individuals and as a group comes with a reward when I see individuals who once thought they could not do a task, end up doing it. This is something I truly love about my job here.
